Parting The Waters Of My Red Sea

I make a prayer to Allah and then proceed to figure out in my mind how that prayer will be answered. Although it is justifiable to make plans and to take a course of action when necessary, Allah is not limited to my narrow understanding of how things will unfold.

Yes, I may plan, but regardless of my plans it is Allah who determines the outcome and not me. Ultimately, as much as I want to be in control of things, I am in the hands of Allah.

But I do take comfort that Allah is both just and merciful, so I must not give up hope. Only a fool gives up hope, for in doing so such a person focuses only on his or her immediate circumstances, becomes overwhelmed by them and feels that there is no way out.

In brief, such a person is overtaken by circumstances but fails to put their trust and faith in the God of those circumstances.

Allah is the master of the wind and the maker of the rain. Allah can calm the storm and make the sun shine again. My job is to ask and believe in the greatness of The One I am asking.

Allah will part the waters of my Red Sea. All I have to do is throw down my staff.
