Professor's Comments On My Essay

Shawn Smith- June 14, 2006

Proclaim the news o'er hill and dale

Bring into formation the funeral procession

Take hold of thy kerchiefs

Rend thy garments from off thy backs and cover thyselves with sackcloth and ashes

And let the weeping and wailing commence

Let the holy men come and deliver their heart rending eulogies

And let the prayers for the dead ascend to the highest heavens

Thy love is now a thousand winds away from here

Her embrace shalt thou feel no more

The Queen may now remove her royal diadem

And all claims to high and mightiness can now be cast aside

An era in human history has come to an end

Oh long lost love, we pine for the days we mortals boldly proclaimed thy immortality

Alas, these words were merely pipe dreams

Today the English language has been massacred

I bid thee adieu my dearest

May you rest in eternal peace
