A Revolt Against The Tribal Howl
Yahya Abdul Rahman- July 28, 2006
Transported along a wave of fury
Asked why I am "anti-American"
Told to go live in an "Islamic" country if I don't like it here
Submit or get the hell out
Tossed about on a sea of hatred and bigotry
Danish caricatures are merely a tip of a hateful ice-burg
Freedom of speech used to express antipathy
Nauseated by the shallow self-righteousness
Sacred writ used as a justification for murder
Institutes of higher learning churning out imbedded intellectuals
Apologists for state sanctioned terror strategically placed in positions of authority
Being called upon to wrap ourselves in some national flag
Never question, just obey
Those who question are suspect
They must be photographed, fingerprinted and be placed on watch lists
Issued security certificates
Placed in detention
Deported
String em by the balls if necessary
We must protect "our" interests against "them"
"They" will take "us" over if "we" let "them"
Note the brown-ness of their skin
Note the thickness of their accent
Note the cloth around their heads
Note the books upon their shelves
Note that guy over there with the video camera and a map
That's enough evidence boys, lock em up!
Endless UN and human rights resolutions, but the suffering continues
Always having to prove one's loyalty
The obligatory beating of the breast
The tribal howl
The mindless conformity
The stripping away of humanity
The zombification of the masses
Keeping us distracted with sex, Brad and Angelina, the latest sports statistics and the endless "war on terror"
Lebanon burns
Afghanistan bleeds
Baghdad has been sacked yet again
Palestinians weep over the rubble of what was once their home
Ya Qudsoo, Ya Qudsoo, Ya Qudsoo, Min Ajleeky Yah Madinat Asalam oohsaly*
And when I protest I am told to go live in an "Islamic" country if I don't like it here
