Studying Chaucer

Although his rhyme is rather queer
I find it pleasant to my ear
Although I am now forty-two
To me his work his something new
So off to Becket I will go
And though my progress may be slow
I must traverse both hills and dales
Reading "The Canterbury Tales"
Though words obscure like "course-y-ronne"
Though spelling strange like the "younge-sonne"
It's understanding I will seke
But, alas, I only have a weke
